AI Educator Summit

Shay Gillespie will lead a dynamic, a session demonstrating how AI can transform literacy, creativity, and future readiness for Missouri students. Attendees will get a firsthand look at Guiden, an AI powered learning platform that supports reading, writing, and personalized instruction for all learners, including struggling readers and English learners. Shay will also introduce the CCK Young AI Pro Certification, her digital AI course that teaches students how to use modern AI tools to create digital products, build confidence, and develop real world skills for the future workforce.
This session gives board members, association leaders, and ELA teachers a clear, practical view of how AI can support classrooms today while preparing students for tomorrow. Participants will see live demonstrations, classroom ready examples, and a roadmap for integrating both Guiden and Young AI Pro into Missouri schools in a way that strengthens literacy, boosts engagement, and expands opportunity for every learner.

Teens are increasingly turning to AI chatbots for conversation, emotional support, and even friendship and the technology is designed to keep them coming back. While the appeal is understandable, the risks are real. Learn why students are drawn to AI companionship, what the research is telling us about the impact, and what schools can do about it.

The most important teaching moments often happen outside the lesson plan in the margins. This hands-on session explores the quiet work that shapes students for life, and how AI tools like SchoolAI can protect the time and attention that work requires. Participants will experience a live AI lesson using SchoolAI Spaces, see real classroom data through the Teacher Dashboard, and build a ready-to-use prompt to take back to their students. Audience: Education (Secondary)
This module equips educators with practical skills to leverage AI for new learning experiences. Participants will explore approaches that go beyond conventional applications like quizzes and worksheets to design dynamic, personalized learning environments. The course examines how AI can support differentiated instruction, facilitate collaborative knowledge construction, enable authentic assessment, and develop students’ critical thinking skills. Educators will learn to create resources that enhance student agency and engagement a variety of learning activities.
