AI Educator Summit

Audience: Education (Elementary)
This module prepares educators to guide students in responsible AI use across learning contexts. Participants will explore developmentally appropriate applications of AI tools for research, writing, problem-solving, and creative expression. The course addresses strategies for establishing clear expectations, teaching critical evaluation of AI outputs, and fostering digital citizenship. Educators will gain practical skills to adapt implementation approaches based on their organization’s available AI platforms, ensuring students engage with these technologies in safe, ethical, and productive ways.

This session explores the intersection of classroom experience and innovation through the lens of GradeLens, an emerging educator-driven initiative. Drawing from hands-on work as a paraprofessional, co-teacher, and substitute teacher at Northwest, this session highlights the real challenges educators face in tracking and responding to student progress.


Attendees will learn how GradeLens is being developed in collaboration with teachers to create practical, data-informed solutions that support decision-making and improve student outcomes. With early interest from districts like University City, this work represents the beginning of a broader shift toward tools designed with educators, not just for them.

What does it actually look like to use AI in classrooms, across grade levels, content areas, and student needs, in ways that are ethical, practical, and impactful?


This session shares findings from a Missouri AI study grant, where educators from diverse settings, including preschool, special education, gifted education, rural and urban schools, and pre-service programs, explored how AI can support instruction without adding to teacher workload or compromising student learning.


Participants will walk away with real examples of how AI is being used to:

• Support differentiation and meet diverse student needs
• Strengthen instructional design and student engagement
• Maintain academic integrity while leveraging emerging tools
• Use data to inform instruction and track student growth

This session is designed to move beyond theory and into practice, offering clear, classroom-ready strategies that educators can implement immediately. Attendees will also gain insight into the challenges, considerations, and opportunities that come with integrating AI in responsible and meaningful ways.
